¿Pemex realmente refina petróleo al 50% de su capacidad? • Forbes México
Durante la mañana del 23 de septiembre, el presidente de México, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, presumió que las seis refinerías de Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) ya utilizan la mitad de su capacidad para refinar petróleo.
“Pasamos del 38% de capacidad productiva en las refinerías al 50%, que ese es un buen dato, del 38 al 50% de capacidad instalada en las refinerías”, aseguró el mandatario mexican, durante su conferencia matutina del pasado 23 de septiembre.
Pero las últimos datos disponibles difieren con el político tabasqueño.
Para empezar, la Secretaría de Energía (Sener) informó que los seis complejos refinadores 42%, tras 10 meses de gobierno. “Subimos un 10% de la producción y apenas en este mes iniciamos paulatinamente con las rehabilitaciones”, comentó la secretaria de Energía, Rocío Nahle la semana pasada.
La compañía que actualmente dirige Octavio Romero Oropeza cuenta con una capacidad para procesar 1.61 millones de barriles diarios en sus seis refinerías, pero el gobierno priista de Enrique Peña Nieto entregó las refinerías al 32% de su capacidad.
Hasta julio de 2019, Pemex procesó en las seis refinerías 657,000 barriles diarios de aceite, de acuerdo con el Sistema de Información Energética de la Sener.
La afirmación del presidente implicaría que, en una semana, Pemex logró incrementar su capacidad de procesamiento de crudo en 8%, equivalente a 129,000 barriles diarios adicionales.
Ramsés Pech, analista de la firma energética Caraiva y Asociados, dijo que si se trataba del porcentaje total de combustible producido, es decir, el aprovechamiento por cada barril, el porcentaje si era superior al 50%, pero no respecto a la capacidad para procesar crudo.
Forbes México consultó a la Sener sobre el tema, pero no obtuvo respuesta inmediata.
