Pemex finaliza con éxito la recompra de su deuda por 5,000 mdd • Forbes México
Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) anunció que logró la recompra de su deuda por 5,000 millones de dólares (mdd)
“Para ello, Pemex utilizó los fondos de la contribución patrimonial previamente anunciada por el Gobierno de México por un monto en pesos mexicanos equivalente a 5,000 mdd”, dice un comunicado.
Con la recompra, Pemex reduce significativamente su deuda en dólares con vencimientos entre enero 2020 y septiembre 2023, lo que dará a la empresa mayor liquidez en este periodo.
Además, también anunció la liquidación de los 7,500 mdd en nuevos bonos, los cuales fueron colocados por la empresa el pasado jueves, 12 de septiembre de 2019.
“Esta transacción se posiciona como la más grande en la historia de la compañía y es una de las mejores recibidas por el mercado. Se contó con la participación de inversionistas de los Estados Unidos, Europa, Asia, Sudamérica y Medio Oriente”, dice el comunicado.
De acuerdo con el documento, estos recursos serán destinados al refinanciamiento de sus pasivos de corto plazo, sin representar crecimiento en los saldos de la deuda de la empresa.
“La Secretaría de Hacienda felicita a Pemex por su regreso a los mercados de capital internacionales y por el éxito de estas transacciones, las cuales constituyen un importante paso para fortalecer su estabilidad financiera, reducir su deuda, aumentar su liquidez, y mejorar su rentabilidad, así como su contribución estratégica de largo plazo para la economía mexicana”, dice el comunicado.
