Cannes 2021: Elvira Gavrilova at the 74th Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony

This year, the delegation from Ukraine was not seen on the red carpet of the opening ceremony, except for the team of the film “The Incident at Wall Street Hotel”. Films and Ukraine were represented by Elvira Gavrilova, Anastasiia Bondarchuk and her mother Natalia Bondarchuk.

Elvira Gavrilova is also remembered by the fact that she is expecting her first child. We remind you that Elvira Gavrilova is a co-owner of the international marketing company Amillidius. She is also a producer and director. In Cannes this year she represented the film “The Incident at Wall Street Hotel”, starring the Hollywood actor Eric Roberts, an Oscar nominee, and Anastasiia Bondarchuk, her protégé, who has been producing for many years.

The film also stars actor, singer, founder of the TikTok house uLove Home Danya Vegas, actor and influencer Bogdan Sheludyak, actress and TV presenter Marina Kiseleva, actors Irina Kzhemanovskaya and Oleg Simonenko.

We spoke with Elvira.

How did you manage to get to France for the Cannes Film Festival amid a pandemic? We talked with many stars and artists, they did not go to Cannes this year only because the conditions for entering the country are very difficult, you need to be vaccinated and so on.

– I am not vaccinated, as I am expecting a baby. And pregnant women don’t get vaccinated. I live in the European Union, namely in Portugal, so I can move around the EU countries without any obstacles now, without being vaccinated. But a PCR test is definitely necessary. I invited Nastya and her mother a week before the Cannes Film Festival started. We had projects together with Portuguese designers. We will announce them a bit later. Nastya has become the face of several brands. We attended the “Miss Portugal”. By the way, it was also the red carpet. And already from Portugal we flew to the Cote d’Azur without obstacles. Therefore, basically, it was not difficult, but our film’s delegation should have been much larger. Yes, you are right, the trip had to be postponed this year because of the flight difficulties and entry into France, but I am sure that it will be more of us who will already go to the Venice Film Festival. As we are planning a trip there as well.

Elvira, tell me, who designed the dress for you? A Ukrainian or Portuguese designer?

– I invariably choose Ukrainian designers, namely the dress of my brand Nanojy, because this is an additional advertisement – walking on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.

Please share your impressions of watching the film “Annette” directed by Leos Carax.

– After the movie “Annette” I spent a long time putting my thoughts and feelings in order. I think I’ve seen the strongest movie in a long time. Such extremely rare paintings leave their mark on everyone. Carax has always made personal films, but even by his standards, “Annette” is a completely nude work. This is the right word: the heroes are literally on display here – and this is not only about scenes of a sexual nature.
